DONINGTON
The third event of the season took place in Donington UK in mid-June.
A total of 47 cars were present plus a number of "old" Ferrari F1s.
In the grid A, the win went to the Ferrari Dino 246 F1 of Tony Smith in both races with the Alfa Romeo 158 of Willy Green second in the first race and Carlo Vogele in the second.
For the grid B, the first race was won by the Ferrari 250GTO of Federico Kroymans with Vincent Gaye (Ferrari 250SWB) second, while in the second race they exchanged their positions.
The grid C was been dominated by David Franklin’s Ferrari 712 S, with William Binnie (Ferrari 312P) second in the first race and Ray Bellm (Ferrari 312P) in the second.
NURBURGRING
The fourth event of the challenge took place in Nurburgring at the beginning of August, together with the Oldtimer-Grand Prix meeting. As usual about 50 Ferraris and Maseratis were entered to enjoy the wonderful and hot weather.
As at Donington, Tony Smith with his Ferrari Dino 246 F1 won the first race of grid A, racing together with many other F1 cars of the 50s, ahead of the two Maserati 250Fs of Thomas Bscher and Burkhard von Schenk.
In the first race of grid B the Maserati 300S occupied the first six places with Max Werner first followed by Thomas Bscher, William Binnie, Burkhard von Schenk, Jos Koster and Michael Hinderer.

The winner of the grid C has been Patrick Stieger (Ferrari 512M) while William Binnie was second with his Ferrari 312P and Paul Knapfield (Ferrari 512BB LM) third.
The finishing line of the second grid A race exactly the same as the first and again Max Werner has won the grid B race with the Maserati 300S preceding Binnie, von Schenk, Koster and Hinderer with the same cars.
In the grid C, two brothers Patrick and Cristoph Stieger, occupied the first two positions with the Ferrari 512M and 312P with William Binnie third with his Ferrari 312P.
In the huge paddocks of the circuit, there were also meetings of the Ferrari and Maserati owner’s club where, as usual, the public was allowed to see and photograph an incredible number of recent and old masterpieces of the two factories.
